LEMONT, Ill. – FedEx Cup points leader Matt Kuchar can feel the good vibrations stepping onto Cog Hill for the BMW Championship even though it’s not the same course he won the U.S. Amateur on in 1997.

“It’s meaner,” Kuchar said. “It seems more punishing and penalizing.”

Kuchar experienced Cog Hill’s major renovations before last year’s BMW Championship and still found the course to his liking. He tied for 10th.

Despite the “meaner” feel of the course, Kuchar said there’s still a warm and fuzzy feeling in the clubhouse when he returns.

“The people inside the locker room still remember me, still get big smiles on their faces,” Kuchar said.
