A cracked rib kept five-time Heritage champion Davis Love III out of this week’s field, although the U.S. Ryder Cup captain said on Twitter this week he’s confident he will be ready to play again by the Zurich Classic or Wells Fargo Championship. However, there was a Love at Harbour Town.
Mark Love, Davis’ brother and the executive director of the McGladrey Classic, caddied for Chris Kirk at the Heritage. Mark Love, who has caddied for Davis in the past, is Kirk’s swing coach.
Love’s week, however, was a short one. Kirk carded rounds of 76-70 and missed the cut.
