After finishing T-11 at the Dubai World Championship on Sunday, Rory McIlroy is looking forward to putting his clubs away until 2012.

The U.S. Open champion has decided to pull out of the inaugural Thailand Golf Championship. On doctor's orders, McIlroy will remain in Dubai to rest as he recovers from a mild case of dengue fever.

'Can't wait to not have to get up and practice or hit a shot or people telling me what to do or where to go, or just have a few weeks off would be nice,' McIlroy said.

'[The doctor] said don't bother getting on a flight for a few days, just completely stay in the one place for a while and just chill out.”

McIlroy will make his 2012 European Tour debut in Abu Dhabi, returning to the United Arab Emirates on Jan. 12.

Splitting time between the PGA and European tours next season, McIlroy is not concerned with winning both money titles, as Luke Donald clinched on Sunday.

'My goals are just to win tournaments and to try and become a multiple-major champion,' he said.
