SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Ryan Moore got off to a sluggish start, with just a single birdie on the front nine during the third round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

He turned things around at the turn, though.

Moore birdied the 10th hole, then added five more on the back nine, including four straight at one point and a seven-footer on the final hole to get into Sunday’s final group alongside Bubba Watson and Kevin Stadler.

“It wasn't looking too pretty there the front nine, but I hit a lot of good shots,” Moore said. “The greens out there are firm and they're tough.

“It was tough to get around the hole, and I hit a lot of good shots that didn't end up close to the hole, and then finally kind of got a little momentum on the back nine and hit a few nice iron shots and made a few putts, made a couple bonus putts in there, and was able to cap it off with a nice birdie on 18.”

Moore is looking to join Jimmy Walker as multiple winners during the 2013-14 season. He won the CIMB Classic in Malaysia late last year.
