ATLANTA – As if the FedEx Cup, Player of the Year and Presidents Cup races weren’t enough to captivate on Sunday at East Lake, players are also vying for a spot in the lucrative World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions.

The top-5 finishers on today’s final FedEx Cup points list who are not otherwise exempt earn a spot in November in Shanghai, China. Currently that would  be Hunter Mahan (projected to finish first in points), Matt Kuchar (seventh), Jason Day (ninth), Chez Reavie (12th) and John Senden (13th), although Mahan, who is tied for the lead with Aaron Baddeley at East Lake, would qualify if he were to win today and open a spot for someone else on the list.

Players can also qualify for the HSBC event if they finish inside the top 25 in Monday’s World Golf Ranking, which would assure Kuchar (eighth in the world), Day (seventh) and probably Mahan (23rd) a spot if they were to slip in the FedEx Cup standings.
