Lorena Ochoa has added another trophy to her home, this one more valuable than all the others combined. Ochoa announced Thursday that she gave birth to her first child, a boy named Pedro.
'We are happy to share that our son Pedro was born today 8:58 pm, we both are doing great, 2.8 kg, 48 cmt thanks so much for all your support,' Ochoa wrote via her Twitter account. Pedro is 6.2 pounds and 18.9 inches long.
Ochoa, 30, was the top-ranked LPGA player in the world from 2007 until her unexpected retirement in May 2010 after winning 27 LPGA titles and two major championships. She married husband Andres Conesa two years ago and the couple announced she was pregnant in April. Conesa is CEO of Aeromexico.
Just last month Ochoa was front and center as hostess of the LPGA's Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Guadalajara, Mexico. Catriona Matthew won the event by four shots.
