DUBLIN, Ohio – Geoff Ogilvy, on the DL since he withdrew from last month’s Players Championship, is still on pace to play the U.S. Open, according to his swing coach Dale Lynch.

Ogilvy has been hampered by a left shoulder injury since the Florida Swing and bolted TPC Sawgrass midway through his second round. Lynch said the 2006 Open champion plans to play next week’s FedEx St. Jude Classic as a tune-up for Congressional.

“The thing is, he’s stripping it. The best he’s ever hit it,” Lynch said of Ogilvy, who already missed the first month of the season with a finger injury he sustained at the season opener in Hawaii.

Lynch said doctors have told Ogilvy that he can’t do any further damage to the injury and that the only treatment is rest and a Hyperbaric Chamber, which increases blood flow in the injured areas.

“It’s in an area where there’s not a lot of blood flow,” Lynch said. “If he would have taken the entire week off in San Antonio he probably would have been fine.”
