SAN MARTIN, Calif. – Who says anger is detrimental to one’s game?

Geoff Ogilvy made the cut Friday at the Open after using his wedge as a putter over his final four holes. The switch was made necessary, according to Ogilvy’s caddie, when his boss man bent his putter after a double bogey on the par-4 sixth, his 14th hole of the second round.

Matthew “Bussy” Tritton said Ogilvy used his wedge to make a 5-footer for birdie on the par-4 sixth, a 5-footer for par on the par-3 seventh and 6-footer for par on the par-4 ninth.

Playing his final four holes in 1 under par, Ogilvy made the cut on the number, at even-par 142. His second-round 5-under 66 offset his opening 76.
