PGA announces Ryder Cup Captains & Celebrity event

If ever you’ve aspired to watch a few celebrities chop their way around a Ryder Cup venue, here’s your chance.

The PGA of America on Monday announced the inaugural Ryder Cup Captains & Celebrity Scramble event that will be held on Medinah’s Course No. 3 on Tuesday, Sept. 25, the first day of practice rounds for the U.S. and European teams. Celebrities will be paired with past Ryder Cup captains for 10 holes in a scramble format. 

Former captains include Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw, Tom Lehman, Corey Pavin, Dave Stockton, Hal Sutton, Lee Trevino and Lanny Wadkins.

The stars who are scheduled to play: Bill Murray, Justin Timberlake, Michael Phelps, George Lopez, Ernie Banks, Richard Dent, Stan Mikita and Scottie Pippen.
