SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – When Michelle Wie rolled in an 18-foot birdie putt at No. 3 to go 2 up against Helen Alfredsson in their Solheim Cup singles match, B.J. Wie couldn't hold back a 'whooo-hoooo' even though it hurt him.
Wie's father has had so much to cheer about in three days his throat is raw.
'I can barely talk,' he said. 'I need a cough drop.'
Wie carried her momentum Saturday right onto the first tee Sunday. She went 3 up on Alfredsson after hitting a short iron to a foot at the sixth hole.
