The Shark has taken a few bites out of Medalist Golf Club.

Reportedly taking issue with the South Florida club’s hiring of Bobby Weed to restore the original Greg Norman-Pete Dye design, Norman has ordered that his and Dye’s name be taken off the course and also wants his memorabilia returned.

“It’s really a slap in the face at the end of the day,” Norman told Tim Rosaforte of Golf Digest via email. “It’s the end of a legacy by the board doing what the board is doing now. It hurts a lot to tell the truth. It’s a shame.”

According to the report, Norman offered his design company’s services for free in May, but the club opted for Weed, who began restructuring some of Medalist’s bunkers this summer.

Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler are among the PGA Tour players who belong to the club, according to the report.
