Tiger and Rory’s 1-on-1 match will prove quite profitable for both players.

Their made-for-TV event at Mission Hills in China, which begins at midnight ET Sunday, will net both players at least $1.5 million, according to a report Sunday in The Telegraph.

This report, which cited anonymous industry sources, estimated that McIlroy would take home $1.5 million to play the 18-hole exhibition, while Woods was expected to bank more than $2 million.

To put that figure in perspective, consider that, on Sunday, McIlroy earned less than $70,000 for his T-27 at the European Tour’s BMW Masters.

Woods, meanwhile, is making his first appearance since going 4-1 at the Presidents Cup earlier this month.
