David Toms gets a chance to jump right back in the fire on a golf course that should bring out the best in his game again.

Toms will tee it up this week at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

While Toms has never won there, it seems like a good venue to follow his playoff loss Sunday at The Players Championship. He loves the twisting Colonial layout. He hasn’t missed a start there since he began playing it in 1998. He has T-2, T-3 and T-4 finishes there.

“One of my favorite events, probably the favorite event of the year,' Toms said. 'If I can go in there and take some of the things I did this week, maybe get back in the hunt, maybe I'll feel more comfortable the next time and do better.'
