Lexi Thompson will make her LPGA rookie debut alongside two of the best Americans on tour at this weeks ISPS Handa Womens Australian Open in the LPGA season opener.
Thompson, who celebrates her 17th birthday on Friday, is scheduled to play with Cristie Kerr, the top-ranked United States player at No. 4 in the Rolex world rankings, and Stacy Lewis, No. 10. Thompson is No. 38.
The threesome is set to go off the 10th tee at Royal Melbournes Composite Course Thursday at 8:50 a.m. local time. Thats actually late Wednesday afternoon in the U.S. (4:50 p.m. ET).
World No. 1 Yani Tseng will go off the 10th tee at 9 a.m. local time with Australias Karrie Webb and American Morgan Pressel. Tseng is going for her third consecutive Womens Australian Open title. Webb is a four-time winner of the event.
Golf Channel is scheduled to televise theseason-opener on tape delay from 12:30-2:30 p.m. ET on Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday and Sunday.
