There will be no FedEx Cup playoffs for Gary Woodland.

Woodland didn’t quite finish his second round on Friday when the horn blew for a weather delay in the Wyndham Championship. His ball lay on the final green, 6 feet from the cup and a potential 73 that would have made the cut. But when he returned after more than an hour, he missed the putt, signed for a 74 and will fail to qualify for the playoffs. He was trying to move into the top 125 from the 130th position.

Woodland, a native of Topeka, Kan., ruptured a cyst in his left wrist at the Masters and has been affected by the injury most of the year. His best finish this year has been a 24th. His main problem of late has been consistency; he opened the Wyndham with a 66 before shooting a 74, and in the PGA Championship he opened with 67-79.
