Woods Mickelson skip Ryder Cup soiree

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – According to two sources with knowledge of the proceedings, attendance for U.S. Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin’s Wednesday’s night soiree this week in Wisconsin was almost perfect save three high-profile exceptions.

All but three players in the top 20 on the U.S. points list attended the event, with Nos. 1 Phil Mickelson, 6 Anthony Kim and 10 Tiger Woods skipping.

On Wednesday Pavin was asked about the possibility of making Woods a captain’s pick and he said, “I think Tiger would be an exceptional addition to the team, and he's certainly under considerable consideration, as well. There's a lot of guys that I'm looking at, like I said; he's definitely high on the list.”
