One day after a first tee announcer at the Honda Classic misused Rickie Fowler's last name, ESPN had difficulty with his first name.
Fowler, who led the Honda through two rounds, shot 74 on Saturday and tumbled down the leaderboard into a tie for fourth, five shots off co-leaders Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia heading into Sunday's final round.
After going bogey-free across the first two rounds and heading into this week fresh off a playoff loss at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and a win in Abu Dhabi in January, Fowler is certainly a hot topic in the sports world at large. But speaking and spelling are two different things ... and it seems R-I-C-K-I-E hasn't become engrained in everyone's minds just yet.
But the most erroneous thing about all of this? Fowler's not watching the Golf Channel ...
