Mickelson I Was Right

Phil Mickelson isn't in this weeks Nissan Open field, but his comments made their way to Riviera Country Club Wednesday.
During a conference call for the Ford Championship, Mickelson said he was wrong to knock Tiger Woods equipment, but added that he was also right.
'What kills me is that all of you guys that printed it and found it easy to lay into me - none of you admitted the accuracy of my statement,' Mickelson said.
Mickelson underwent a media firestorm after he said in the recent Golf Magazine that Woods was stuck with inferior equipment.
He apologized to Woods at last weeks Buick Invitational, and then found himself in the final threesome with Tiger on Sunday.
For the week, Mickelson, who uses Titleist equipment, edged out Woods, who uses Nike, in driving distance, driving accuracy, greens hit in regulation and putts.
But in the final round, Woods bettered Lefty in all four categories, beat him by four strokes on the day, and won the tournament.
'When I try to be honest and upfront and give a little insight, I get reamed for it,' Mickelson said. 'I don't know what else to say other than the only guy to win with other than the Pro V1x ball is Tiger.'
Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, Mike Weir and Davis Love III have all won this year using the same brand ball as does Mickelson.
Woods uses the Nike Tour Accuracy TW.
