Spencer Levin and Kyle Stanley each shot 62 on the North Course at Torrey Pines to lead the Farmers Insurance Open at 10-under par. They are one shot ahead of Bill Haas after 1 round.
- Phil Falls Back
Phil Mickelson struggled on the South Course with a 1st round 5-over 77. He only beat six players in the 156 man field. He last missed the cut in this event in 2002.
