With the election of a new USGA President, it is possible that the legality of the anchored putter could be questioned again. Because young players along with older players are using the longer putter and more specifically are anchoring it to their bodies, the incoming USGA President as well as Executive Director Mike Davis feel it is necessary to take another look.
While he was at the USGA Meeting, there were rumblings that the Nicklaus-Sorenstam team would get the 2016 Olympic design job. The Rio 2016 Course Design decision must be unanimous and Sirak thinks that a dark horse candidate has entered the picture and the four jurors were unable to agree on a choice. The IOC is one of the most politicized organizations in the world and he thinks that something has happened to where some time needs to be taken before a decision is made.
When Michael Whan said that there would be 30 LPGA events in a year within a couple of years, Sirak at first did not think that was possible. There are 27 events this year and a 28th event may be announced which is great news for the LPGA Tour. He thinks that the big stories this year will be Yani Tseng and whether or not she can follow up her 2011 season and whether or not Lexi Thompson lives up to very high expectations this year in her first year as an LPGA Tour Member.
