I struggled a lot this week with my swing, which happens every now and then. I just did not feel comfortable over the ball at all. I putted so-so again and had a hard time reading the grainy greens. I finished well on Friday, but just didn't hole the putts I needed to get inside the cut line. No excuses, but it's time for a break and hopefully the week off will refresh me physically and let my head relax.
We (Michael Sim and me) stayed downtown in San Antonio and the city is really cool. There is a place called The Riverwalk which is kind of just under the road level of the city and obviously on the river. There are lots of restaurants and bars, with lots happening and it gets really busy. I saw Tommy Lee Jones having dinner the first night we went there, which was cool.
After missing the cut I decided a little bit of retail therapy was needed. I bought some clothes and almost a watch - which I may still buy. I keep thinking about it.
Other than that I have just been hanging out with Simmy and John Mallinger most of the week. Looking forward to a week off and letting my head relax. Headed back to Scottsdale on Sunday night.
I have recently been reviewing where my game is at and what I need to do to get my game to the next level.
With my contract with Nike coming to an end it was the perfect time to assess what I needed to be successful on the PGA TOUR and so early last week I joined Callaway Golf.
I was attracted to Callaway because they are the technology leader in the golf industry and as I began to test different equipment, Callaway stood out above the rest and it seemed like a natural choice for me.
