Bjorn Withdraws from Masters

Augusta, Ga. -- Thomas Bjorn withdrew from the Masters on Sunday. Bjorn had played in the last four Masters tournaments.
Bjorn, the 50th ranked player in the world, will miss the tournament for family medical reasons. Though a specific reason was not given, his wife recently gave birth to twins.
He has played in the last four Masters, missing the cut in 1999 and 2001. In 2000, Bjorn finished in a tie for 28th at 5-over-par 293. Last year, he posted his best finish as he tied for 18th at even-par 288.
With Bjorn out of the field, there will be 93 participants in the 67th Masters, including a record 39 foreign players.
