MELVILLE, N.Y. -- Commerce Bank has joined on as the title sponsor of the Long Island Classic on the Champions Tour. The event will be contested July 2-4, 2004, a change from its August date in 2003. The 2004 tournament will be the 17th in event history. Last year, Jim Thorpe won the event on the Red Course in Eisenhower Park.
