Daly Lefty Added to Exelon Invitational

AVONDALE, Pa. -- John Daly was announced as tournament host Jim Furyk's replacement to head the field at the sixth annual Exelon Invitational.
Furyk, who had wrist surgery earlier this week, is out of action for three-to-six months and will not be ready to play this event, which will be contested June 7, 2004 at Hartefeld National Golf Club. He will still be on hand to host the event however.
Daly will be joined by three players currently in the top-10 of the world golf rankings - No. 8 Phil Mickelson, No. 9 Stuart Appleby and No. 10 Chad Campbell.
'Although we would have loved to have Jim play June 7, we are pleased he is on the road to a speedy and healthy recovery,' said Bryan Furey, Director of Sports Marketing at EFK Group, which owns and operates this event. 'Jim has been very supportive in helping us to quickly secure another great player.'
Each of the four players in the field has won a PGA Tour event this year. Daly will be making his second appearance at this event, while Mickelson, Appleby and Campbell are all making their first appearance at the event.
The Exelon Invitational is an 18-hole Skins match with the golfers competing for a purse of $300,000.
