Daly Withdraws from Honda Classic

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- John Daly withdrew from the Honda Classic on Monday due to a hand injury.
Daly has been in the middle of a comeback season in 2004. He won for the first time on the PGA Tour at the Buick Invitational and tied for fourth place at the Nissan Open. Those performances vaulted Daly into the top-65 in the World Rankings.
His position in the World Rankings is important because Daly is not currently eligible for The Masters. If he is in the top-50 in the World Rankings or top-10 on the tour's money list after the Players Championship in two weeks, he will get invited to Augusta National.
Daly, currently 64th in the rankings and eighth on the money list, is expected to play next week at Bay Hill and the Players in two weeks at Sawgrass.
