Dyson Set to Defend KLM Title

KLM Open Logo 1007ZANDVOORT, Netherlands -- With many of the top players in the world in the United States this week for the first event in the FedEx Cup playoffs, Simon Dyson hopes to do something only one other player has done so far this year.
Dyson birdied the first playoff hole last year to defeat Richard Green and claim his second title of the '06 season. So far in 2007, the only player to repeat as champion on the European Tour's International schedule has been World No. 1 Tiger Woods, who has repeated at three events.
Dyson is coming off a great final round at the PGA Championship, where he closed in 6-under 64 to finish as low European player.
Bernhard Langer hopes to return to action this week, alongside his son Stefan, at this event. The elder Langer has been out of action recently due to a hospital stay to remove kidney stones. Bernhard Langer is a three-time winner here.
This tournament is one of the oldest on continental Europe, dating back to 1912. Last year's playoff was just the fourth since 1972.
Coverage begins all four days on the GOLF CHANNEL at 9:00 a.m. (ET).
Next week is the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, where Paul Casey won last year.
