European Tour Announces Docket for 2003

European TourLONDON, England -- The European Tour announced its full schedule for the 2003 season on Tuesday. The schedule will feature no less than 45 Order of Merit tournaments in 23 countries around the globe.
The new season got underway in November with the BMW Asian Open. Padraig Harrington, who finished second to Retief Goosen in the race for the 2002 Order of Merit, won the first event of the 2003 schedule.
The European Tour continues this week with the Omega Hong Kong Open, where Jose Maria Olazabal is the defending champion, and returns in January for the South African Airways Open in Cape Town.
The 2003 schedule also features four World Golf Championships events. The 132nd British Open will be played from July 17-20 at Royal St. George's Golf Club in Kent, England where Ernie Els will defend his title.
The last official Order of Merit event of the 2003 schedule is the Volvo Masters Andalucia at Valderrama. Colin Montgomerie and Bernhard Langer shared the title in 2002.
