Former Amateur Star Levin Wins CanTour Title

Canadian Tour-LargeVICTORIA, British Columbia -- Former amateur star Spencer Levin won his second straight Canadian Tour title Sunday, closing with a 1-under 71 in windy conditions for a three-stroke victory in the Times Colonist Open.
Levin, the 23-year-old former University of New Mexico player who tied for 13th as an amateur in the 2004 U.S. Open at Shinnecock, had an 11-under 277 total on the Gorge Vale Golf Club course. He won the Iberostar Riviera Maya Open in Mexico in May.
'I'm very happy with my play this year,' Levin said. 'I've been feeling really comfortable. The confidence is pretty high right now, but you still have to keep proving yourself. You need to push yourself every week and go out there and get it.'
Australia's Jon Abbott (73) and American Michael Walton (75) tied for second, and 2006 winner Mike Grob (69) finished fourth at 7 under.
