Golf Legend Art Wall Passes Away

Art Wall, who won the 1959 Masters and 14 PGA Tour titles before helping form the Senior PGA Tour, died Wednesday morning of respiratory failure.
The 77-year-old Wall had been hospitalized the previous two weeks in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Wall began his career in 1949 and ten years later he was named PGA Tour Player of the Year when he won four times and captured the Vardon Trophy and money title.
In 1975, Wall became the second oldest winner in PGA Tour history at 51 years and 10 months. Wall was also a member of the 1957, '59 and '61 Ryder Cup teams.
The native of Honesdale, PA, Wall graduated from Duke University in 1949 with a degree in business.
