Harrington Climbs Two Spots

World RankingsPadraig Harrington climbed two spots to No. 8 in the latest Official World Golf Rankings. Harrington, who will defend his title at the Target World Challenge this week, moved up to the eighth spot thanks to his win at the Omega Hong Kong Open.

Ahead of Harrington the top seven players remained unchanged from last week. Tiger Woods remains a solid No. 1 followed by Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, Davis Love III, Jim Furyk, Mike Weir and Retief Goosen.

David Toms and Kenny Perry respectively each slipped one spot to ninth and 10th. The next five players also remained the same from last week with Darren Clarke, Nick Price, Phil Mickelson, Chad Campbell and Stuart Appleby ranking 11th through 15th.

Robert Allenby used his win at the Australian Masters to inch up two places to 16th. Despite a top-10 showing in Hong Kong, Fredrik Jacobson slipped one spot to 17th.

Justin Leonard also dropped one to 18, while K.J. Choi remained in the 19th position. Charles Howell III climbed one slot to 20th in this week's rankings as Brad Faxon fell from 20th to 22nd.
