Heavy Rains Plague Nwide Event

Nationwide TourMIAMI -- Heavy rains overnight forced a seven-hour delay to the start of the second round of the Miccosukee Championship on Friday, and further bad weather throughout the day eventually caused its suspension.
Play eventually got started around 2:30 p.m. local time, but it didn't last long. The horn signaling the suspension sounded just 2 hours and 36 minutes later.
Marc Turnesa made five birdies and a bogey through nine holes Friday and held the lead at eight-under when the round was stopped. Dustin Bray was seven- under through six holes, just a shot off the lead.
Twenty players were within five strokes of Turnesa, many of them never getting a chance to hit a shot in the second round.
Play was scheduled to resume at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The lift, clean and place rule is in effect.
