Rain Cancels Play in North Carolina

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The first round of the Nationwide Tour's Carolina Classic was suspended Thursday due to inclement weather.
A total of 30 players had posted scores when the round was halted early Thursday morning because of a steady rain. An announcement was made shortly before 12:00 PM ET that the round had been suspended for the day.
Play is scheduled to resume at 7:15 AM Friday.
Ben Bates birdied two of the four holes he played Thursday to take an early lead. Todd Rose and Scott Petersen were both one shot further back at 1-under par through three holes.
Defending champion Zoran Zorkic had yet to tee off before the round was called.
