BALTIMORE, Maryland -- Bobby Wadkins defends his title this week in the last major on the 2007 Champions Tour schedule, the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship. Wadkins defeated Jim Thorpe by single stroke last year and by two over Jay Haas, Loren Roberts, Gil Morgan and Des Smyth.
This event was staged in July last year and features a new venue this year. Baltimore Country Club gets this championship and the last significant event there was the 1988 U.S. Women's Open won by Liselotte Neumann.
This year's other major championships were won by Denis Watson (Senior PGA Championship), Brad Bryant (U.S. Senior Open), Tom Watson (Senior British Open Championship) and Mark McNulty (Tradition).
The GOLF CHANNEL will have coverage on the first three days, splitting time with NBC on Saturday.
Next week is the Administaff Small Business Classic, won last year by Jay Haas.
