TOUR Off to Florida for Final Events

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- The PGA TOUR returns to Florida for the final two events of the Fall Series. First up is the second straight new event on the schedule, the Ginn sur Mer Classic at Tesoro.
This week's host course, the Tesoro Club, was designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 2005. The Ginn Resorts signed a five-year deal with the PGA TOUR and this event will rotate between various Ginn Resorts properties.
The field this week will have plenty of players looking to climb into the top 125 on the money list to save their playing privileges for next year.
There are only four players ranked between 120th and 145th on the money list who are not playing this week. Those four are Steve Allan, Brett Quigley, Jason Bohn and Corey Pavin, who is exempt next year anyway thanks to his win last year at the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee.
Just three players in the top 50 in the world rankings are slated to play. World No. 33 Tim Clark is the highest-ranked player in the field, while No. 41 Robert Allenby and No. 42 Mark Calcavecchia are also in the field.
GOLF CHANNEL will have coverage of all four rounds beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET each day. Next week is the final Fall Series event in which players can attempt to secure their TOUR cards for 2008. Joe Durant is scheduled to defend his title at the newly-named Children's Miracle Network Classic at Walt Disney World.
