Victory Vaults Lonard in Rankings

World RankingsPeter Lonard climbed 14 spaces in the latest Official World Golf Rankings to No. 28 following his victory at the Australian Open on Sunday.
Peter LonardLonard, who also clinched the Australian Order of Merit, finished one shot clear of Stephen Leaney and Chris Downes to capture the Australian Open for the first time.
Tiger Woods stayed put atop the rankings at No. 1 followed by Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, Davis Love III, Jim Furyk, Mike Weir, Retief Goosen, Padraig Harrington, David Toms and Kenny Perry, all of whom held their same positions from last week.
Darren Clarke remained at No. 11 and Nick Price was next at No. 12. Chad Campbell climbed two positions to 13th followed by Stuart Appleby and Phil Mickelson, who fell two spots to No. 15.
Robert Allenby held the 16th spot from last week while Fredrik Jacobson remained at No. 17. Charles Howell III moved up one space to 18th followed by Thomas Bjorn, who climbed one position to No. 19.
Justin Leonard moved up one to round out the top-20 while K.J. Choi dropped three spots to No. 21.
