When we selected this site, we really did it with the idea that we would be focused on the South Course. But having said that, I don't think we would necessarily right now tell you with 100 percent certainty we won't do a composite. But again, I would say that we went into this really thinking that it was a repeat on the South Course. – Mike Davis, the USGA’s executive director, said on the 2021 US Open at Torrey Pines. I think the biggest thing we will lose is the pristine conditions you get at a major championship. When you go to a U.S. Open, the course is groomed to perfection. It’s the best course we play all year, but now we are going to be playing it the week after the men play it. You can’t tell me it’s going to look the same. It is not. We know what a U.S. Open course looks like after we’re done with it. For them to say the course is going to be in great shape, and the greens are the only reason why the men are going first, makes no sense. It’s just something we are going to have to see to believe. – Fourth-year LPGA pro Ryann O’Toole expresses her feelings on the women being schedule the week after the men at Pinehurst No. 2. I, of course, have great sympathy for the fact that he tried like hell to come here and play. And I appreciate that and the fact that he called. I think he wanted to play golf this week. I think that he needs to take [off], whether it's this week, next week or the following week, to get ready for Augusta. Certainly if I were in that position I'd be doing much the same. And I appreciate the fact that he did call and he made every effort to play. He didn't tell me how bad his back is. – Arnold Palmer on his conversation with Woods over the phone. (Getty Images)

It was taking a lot of time away from my golf. School was part of the reason why I went there, but I really enjoyed my time. Fortunately and unfortunately, I had a good year last year, it opened up a lot of doors, and going to (college) would not have let me play in some of the events. – Amateur Matt Fitzpatrick on leaving Northwestern to focus on his golf career. This is the first time in three years I’ve really been healthy. It’s a different feeling, that’s for sure. Just being healthy means a whole lot. – J.B. Holmes on finally being healthy and competing on Tour again. (Getty Images)

It was cool. I walked up to the green and I kind of peeked over, looked over there at what it said and I just started laughing. It was really nice. It was nice to get some support. – Kevin Na said following Rd. 3 at Bay Hill.
