Inauguration may cut short Clinton’s Humana visit

Last year, former President Bill Clinton played in the Humana Challenge pro-am with Greg Norman during a Saturday round that was eventually cut short by heavy winds.

This year, however, he may not peg it at all.

In an exclusive interview Thursday with Larry Bohannan of the Desert Sun, Clinton said that he is only able to stay in the California desert through Thursday, because over the weekend he is flying to Washington, D.C., for the second inauguration of President Barack Obama. Clinton is the chairman of the inauguration, which will be held Jan. 21.

“If I can only stay a day the tournament thinks, and I do too, that it would be better if I spent the maximum amount of time walking among the crowds and seeing as many players as I could,” he said, according to the report. “So I may just do a ceremonial tee off or maybe play the first hole and them go walk with everyone.”
