Oklahoma State assistant undergoing cancer treatment

Oklahoma State assistant coach Donnie Darr (pictured above, far left) is currently undergoing treatment for Stage 3 colorectal cancer, the team announced Thursday.

Darr, now in his fourth season with the Cowboys, was diagnosed in December. He will undergo a 10-month treatment plan and spend time in both Stillwater, Okla., and the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston while he recovers.

The school said that Darr will continue to help coach the team.

The defending NCAA champions are once again the No. 1-ranked team in the country, after the Cowboys won three events in the fall. Their spring season begins Feb. 7 in Hawaii.
