With the golf world and social media buzzing, Tiger Woods was assessed a two-shot penalty Saturday morning for taking an incorrect drop during Friday’s second round. The 14-time major champion took to Twitter to release a statement about the situation:
At hole #15, I took a drop that I thought was correct and in accordance with the rules. I was unaware at that time I had violated any rules.
