Young, determined, and skilled; Thomas Pieters went from struggling his freshman year at Illinois University to establishing himself as an elite golfer. Thomas beat Jordan Spieth in the first round of the 2012 U.S. Amateur. He played on the European Challenge Tour after turning pro in 2013, and qualified for the European Tour in 2014. He became the first European rookie to earn four points in a Ryder Cup where Pieters shined with teammate Rory MciLroy. In 2017 Pieters finished T4 at the Masters, best finish by a first-timer. Thomas remains in the top-25 World Ranking entering The Open at Royal Birkdale.
