Golf Advisor: Great links golf in Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is one of the finest destinations in the world for links golf. These courses on the sea are beautiful, challenging and bring out all the imagination of links golf. And there are so many great ones, like Royal County Down's Championship Links, ranked among the best in the world. The course was designed by Old Tom Morris & Harry Colt and dates back to 1889. Another one of Northern Ireland's best is The Dunluce at Royal Portrush, which will play host to The Open in 2019. Also designed by Colt, the Dunluce Course has undergone some renovations as of late. It goes back to 1896, and its castle clubhouse dates back 6 centuries. And finally, among the most challenging courses in NI is the Strand Course at Portstewart, site of the 2017 Irish Open.
