The 20th edition of the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play returns to Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas for the 3rd consecutive year. The course was designed by Pete Dye in 1984, redesigned in 2015 by Rod Whitman and this week it will be playing par 71, 7,108 yards long. This is the 4th year that the 64 players will be divided into 16 four-player groups and compete in a round-robin format over the first three days, Wednesday-Friday. At the end of the three matches, the player in each group with the most points (1 point per win, ½ point for a halved match) advances to single-elimination match play with the round of 16 and quarterfinals scheduled for Saturday and the semifinals and finals on Sunday. Every player in the field is guaranteed to play at least three matches. The field consists of the top 64 in the Official World Golf Rankings as of March 12 and the top 16 seeded players are the top seeds of their respective groups with the other 48 players divided into three pools: seeds 17-32, seeds 33-48 and seeds 49 – 64.
