The Mickelson brothers are taking over Tempe.
A fitter Phil Mickelson appeared on campus last week in his new Arizona State gear alongside his brother (and new boss), Tim.
It was reported last week that Mickelson has joined the Sun Devils as an interim assistant coach, allowing him to play a pivotal role in recruiting and mentoring the young team. It is expected to be a short-term fix, until ASU can hire a full-time replacement in the spring.
Golf Channel insider Tim Rosaforte said Monday that Mickelson is halfway to his goal of shedding 20 pounds and adding 10 mph to his clubhead speed. Lefty turns 45 next June.
