Nike Golf introduces TW '15 shoe with new technology

Tiger Woods is making his season debut this week at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, and he's doing so in some brand new footwear, Nike Golf's TW '15, the first to feature Nike’s breakthrough Flyweave technology.

According to Nike's website, Flyweave, which originally was used last year in a basketball shoe, "enables the creation of a one-piece upper that is woven to provide great strength-to-weight support where it is needed most based upon the demands, or movements, of the sport." The new technology also enables the TW '15 to be 10 percent lighter than last year's model.

“Nike keeps answering the bell every time I want to push the envelope,” said Woods in a press release. “The new Flyweave technology provides even more stability and support for my foot, and when you pair that with the Free-inspired outsole, I noticed I can push off the ground better and finish my swing with power.”

The TW '15 shoes ($250) will be available in university red/black, metallic silver/black and black/white color combinations. A limited amount of the shoes will be available starting Feb. 2 on with the rest available March 5 with pre-orders beginning on Feb. 12.
