After winning for the third time this year on the Web.com Tour, Wesley Bryan is moving up in class.

Bryan defeated Grayson Murray and J.T. Poston in a playoff to win the Digital Ally Open, claiming the title with a birdie on the second extra hole. In so doing, he earned an automatic and immediate promotion to the PGA Tour.

Bryan's card for the 2016-17 season was already secure after wins at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open and El Bosque Mexico Championship, but he is now eligible to play in both the John Deere Classic and Wyndham Championship. He could qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs, but only with a win in either event.

It's a remarkable ascension for Bryan, 26, who appeared on Big Break: The Palm Beaches in 2015. He and his brother-turned-caddie, George, gained notoriety with a trick-shot YouTube page and Bryan had played mini-tour events before earning his Web.com Tour card last year at Q-School.

He won his third start of the year in Louisiana and hasn't looked back since.

Bryan becomes the 21st player to win three times in a single season on the Web.com Tour, and the 11th to do so since 1997 when the PGA Tour instituted its promotion rule for any player with three single-season victories. The last player to pull off the feat was Carlos Ortiz in 2014, although his third win came in late August after the PGA Tour regular season had already ended.
