Despite no medal, Hull got 'good buzz' from Olympics

RIO DE JANEIRO – Charley Hull missed a chance for Great Britain to be on the golf podium for a second consecutive week.

Justin Rose took home gold last week for Team GB and Hull came within two shots of the bronze medal Saturday at the Olympic Golf Course.

A wayward third-round 74 for the 20-year-old proved to be the difference. She was 1 under after 11 holes but made bogeys on four of the last seven holes and ended the day six shots behind Inbee Park.

The final round was much smoother. Hull went out in 2 under and played well on the final nine holes. An easy birdie on the par-5 last hole gave her 68 and a tie for seventh place.

“I felt happy with my performance,” Hull said. “A shame I couldn’t come away with a medal.

“My first Olympics was a fantastic experience. I got a good buzz off it."
