Former world No. 1 David Duval has joined the Golf Channel as a studio analyst.

Duval is expected to be on set for some of the biggest events of the year, including the World Golf Championship events, FedEx Cup playoffs, Players Championship, Florida swing and Presidents/Ryder Cup. Duval, who has served as a guest analyst for the past three years, will appear during the Golf Central pre-and postgame shows alongside Brandel Chamblee

Duval’s first TV appearance of the year will be in three weeks at the Humana Challenge, where in 1999 he famously shot 59 in the final round to win. That year he became the No. 1-ranked player in the world.

Duval, 43, hasn’t won since the 2001 Dunlop Phoenix and has dealt with a variety of injuries over the past decade. The 2001 British Open champion hasn’t been a full-time PGA Tour member since 2011, but he is planning to play a limited schedule this year based on his past champion’s status.

“We’re extremely excited to welcome David to our Golf Channel family and our talented team of golf analysts,” executive producer Molly Solomon said. “David not only brings an enormous amount of credibility as one of the best golfers of his generation, but a knowledgeable and candid voice that our viewers will enjoy and can depend on.”
