The flooding that caused officials to cancel next week’s Greenbrier Classic has also impacted player travel plans for The Open Championship.
Players who participated in the Greenbrier Classic were able to take a charter flight to Scotland on Sunday after the completion of play, but the cancelation has officials and players searching for alternative travel plans.
“Discussions regarding the air charter to The Open Championship are ongoing,” Tour executive vice president and chief of operations Andy Pazder wrote in an e-mail to players on Sunday. “We anticipate resolution by tomorrow and we will promptly notify you about the situation.
The same charter flight was scheduled to take players from The Open to the RBC Canadian Open in Ontario on July 17.
