Inkster has pairing 'in my head,' but not on paper

ST. LEON-ROT, Germany – So who are captains Juli Inkster and Carin Koch planning to pair as teammates in foursomes and fourballs this week?

Two days before the Solheim Cup begins, Inkster says nothing is finalized on her side. The pairings for Friday morning’s opening foursomes will become official with their release in Thursday’s opening ceremony at 11 a.m. ET.

“I have them in my head,” Inkster said. “I don't have them on paper, but I know kind of what I want to do.”

Inkster sent out Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel, Cristie Kerr and Lexi Thompson on Wednesday to practice together for a second consecutive day. Brittany Lincicome, Angela Stanford, Alison Lee and Michelle Wie were also out together for a second consecutive day. Stacy Lewis and Lizette Salas played together as the first Americans off. Gerina Piller played with Brittany Lang. Lewis, Salas, Piller and Lang played together on Tuesday.

“We're going to see how people are feeling,” Inkster said. “I'll talk to them. But, yeah, I have a pretty good idea what I want to do.”

Wie and Lee look like they’ll be one team and Stanford and Lincicome another. They’ve played matches this week.

The Europeans sent out Anna Nordqvist, Suzann Pettersen, Carlota Ciganda and Azahara Munoz to practice together Wednesday in their first group off. Caroline Hedwall, Caroline Masson, Melissa Reid and Charley Hull were next off together. Gwladys Nocera, Sandra Gal, Catriona Matthew and Karine Icher were last off.
