Koepka taking it easy with dislocated rib

AUGUSTA, Ga. – After withdrawing from the Arnold Palmer Invitational midway through the final round with a dislocated rib, Brooks Koepka has been cautious during his preparation for the Masters.

Koepka, who is playing his first Masters following his maiden victory on the PGA Tour earlier this year in Phoenix, didn’t start back with full swings until last Saturday and has limited his practice schedule to nine holes a day.

“Mentally I’m 100 percent,” Koepka said. “[But] it might be a struggle if there is a rain delay and my back tightens up ... I’m fine, I’ll be alright. Every day is better and better.”

Koepka played a practice round with Rory McIlroy and Joost Luiten on Wednesday and is scheduled to play the Par 3 Contest at 3:16 p.m. ET with Graeme McDowell and Geoff Ogilvy.
